A premium fishing clothing brand
Headquartered in Charleston, SC, Hukgear produces premium performance fishing clothing. It is a subsidiary of the Marolina Outdoors company. The parent organization uses their expertise in outdoor categories to produce innovative designs and technology for outdoor apparel. Furthermore, Hukgear is the child company for fishing apparel. Akantro worked with this organization for a number of years, and I was fortunate enough to work with them in some significant theme enhancements and initiatives. They are Shopify Plus users.
see liveOne of the most recent and relevant enhancements was the ‘quick add’ to cart functionality and product comparison. As said before, the most important goal in any theme modification or enhancement is reducing the steps to checkout. Fortunately, I was able to spearhead the development process on these enhancements.
The first enhancement was a product comparison. Product comparisons help customers make more informed decisions that will lead to the checkout of the product. So, one primary focus for me was to create a product compare section that enabled customers to distinguish between the different types of products. Since Hukgear has hundreds of products, accurate comparison and differentiation proves essential to the process.
